Opening Ceremony:Governor Jim Douglas and other invited speakers will welcome guests to Vermont. Marianne Peereboon Kooijman was born and resides in the Netherlands and has been a laryngectomee since 1989. She has spoken extensively about her life experiences both pre- and post-laryngectomy surgery and will motivate and inspire at the opening.

Ecumenical Candlelight Service:All denominations are welcome to experience this spiritual event which has become one of the most popular of the weekend. Reverend Bruce Comisky of the Stowe Community Church and local musical talent will highlight the evening.

Primitive Soul:For 5 years, this popular band has been entertaining guests at the Stowe Weekend of Hope.

Closing Ceremony and the Flags of Hope and Healing:Guests are invited to design their own Flags of Hope and Healing during the weekend – stations are set-up at many of the events. At the closing ceremony we celebrate life and hope and dedicate and display these flags in the Trapp Family Lodge Concert Meadow (weather permitting). New York City band Primitive Soul provides music, in addition to a special guest appearance by Vermont's own fantastic vocalist Jon Gailmor and dance performances by the Dance Academy of Stowe.

New! Matchmaker Program!After the Opening Ceremony, there will be a coordinated mixer to help attendees connect with others facing similar challenges. Attendees are on their own for dinner, and restaurants will be designated by cancer type, further encouraging attendees to connect with other attendees, make new friends, and share stories.
