Advocate and Educate – Medical WorkshopsPink Cope Pink HopePink Cope, Pink Hope is a special event within the Stowe Weekend of Hope geared toward breast cancer patients. The name comes from the intent of the program: to allow breast cancer survivors and patients to gain insight coping with their disease and finding hope while bonding with others and feeling special.
Friday evening dessert socials
Dessert talks will be held at 7:30pm. Topics include Breast Cancer, Melanoma, Cancer and Distress, Gynecological Cancers, Prostate Cancer, Lung, Thyroid, and Colon. Dinner will be on your own at area restaurants.
Saturday Educational Events: Over 40 Workshops!Our keynote speaker will be Patricia Ganz, Professor of Health Sciences and Medicine at UCLA. She has been on the faculty since 1977 and has devoted the past 20 years to the study of quality of life outcomes in cancer and other chronic diseases. She is the leader in the integration of quality of life assessment and clinical trials. Her inspiring talk on Survivorship will inspire all who attend! Over 30 lectures and workshops will be offered, covering many types of cancer and their respective treatments and latest research. Everyone can pick and choose what they are interested in. The details of each workshop can be found here, and will be included in registration information packets. The speakers include top cancer researchers, clinical care providers, advocates from within the cancer community, and other survivors.
Lectures will cover everything from basic biology of cancer to coping mechanisms, diet, treatments, and much more. All of these lectures and information sessions are free and open to the public. These speakers have all volunteered their time and are motivated to help you understand various aspects of information you need about cancer care. Multiple sessions on breast cancer, prostate cancer, survivorship, stress and family participation, lymphedema, advocacy, leukemia, and the latest in treatments and research.
